Learn basics woodworking skills with cabinetmaker, Ric Simmons, at Zenith Community Arts Foundation’s Iris Street Studio on Saturday mornings: March 9, 16, 23, 2024 from 10:00am to 12:30pm. $260 tuition pays for all three sessions and materials.
Build your confidence with a simple hands-on project. Skills learned are the future building blocks of other woodworking projects you undertake. Keeping the average DIY’er in mind, this class will cover the fundamentals of planning, measuring, sawing, rasping and sanding.The final project will be a serving tray in beautiful wood. Ric Simmons has been building cabinets and assisting creative people in five countries and fifteen states for many years.

This three-hour class will cover the basics of woodshop tools, shop safety, and finishing for wood working projects. Hosted in the Zenith Community Arts Foundation woodshop, you will learn how to operate various tools including a table saw, planer, miter saw & more. If you are looking to learn about the basics of woodworking and you would like to create a beautiful wine rack or maybe make a gift for a loved one, register now! This will be an important introduction class for future woodworking courses.
