Stephen Hansen
Born in Tacoma, WA, Stephen Hansen is a self-taught artist whose
fanciful work in papier-mâché is widely collected and displayed
in collections ranging from Capitol Records in Los Angeles to
U.S. Embassies abroad. He has pieces on permanent display at
the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of American
History and The National Building Museum. Besides papier-mâché,
Hansen works in wood, bronze, cement, steel and resin,
watercolor, etching and engraving. He has had one-man shows in
Detroit, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Washington, New
York, Italy, Venezuela and Sri Lanka.
