Leslie Exton
An associate professor and program head of the Department of Drawing and Painting at Washington’s Corcoran College of Art + Design, Leslie Exton has a certificate in painting from the University of Florence, Italy and a Master of Fine Arts degree in painting from Catholic University of America. Exton has shown her work at galleries in the Washington area and the University of Virginia. As a renowned botanical artist and curator, she published Things as They Are, Botanical Drawings & Paintings in 2001, and she taught, organized and curated the Corcoran Gallery of Art’s student exhibit “Botanical Treasures of Lewis and Clark” in 2006. Most recently, she curated A Biographical and Botanical Art Exhibit at Monticello’s Jefferson Library in Charlottesville, VA, featuring her students’ work.
