We offer this position for either course credit or as a paid internship at the rate of $12 per
hour. In the training period (such as, while you are still in school, completing your degree),
you will be expected to attend 20-25 hours a week, with additional hours available, on pre
specified occasions, such as during weeks when a grant application is due. For the
successful candidate, this position has the potential to evolve into a full-time position.

*  REFERENCES should be from employers, academic advisors and/or college professors. 
Please be prepared to show your portfolio at the interview, but please do not provide these unless requested. Portfolios may be sent as low DPI JPEG's of your most recent art (but please send no more than 10 images), labeled appropriately with the titles, materials, measurements, and year the piece was created. The label should be sent as a word document that corresponds to the title of each JPEG.
Founded in 2000, by Margery Goldberg, Zenith Community Arts Foundation (ZCAF) is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, committed to arts advocacy, arts education, and public art, as well as using art and creativity to enrich the Greater Washington DC/ Baltimore/ Virginia region, with an emphasis on our local community.  ZCAF does this by fostering alliances between artists, businesses, other non-profits and government agencies. We do this in part by forming meaningful partnerships and in part by participating as members in various local, regional, or national organizations.
ZCAF Program Assistant Interns should plan to spend about 20-25 hours per week assisting with the following:

   Office and Classroom Environment Filing, Maintenance, Recordkeeping, as Needed

   Correspondence, Curriculum, Grant Application, Budget Development, Marketing & Writing/Proofreading, as needed

   Coordinating Art Supply & Equipment Usage/Supply Orders, as Needed

   Communications with Board, Cultural Partners, Program Participants and Others, as Needed

   Photography of Program, Marketing on Social Media, Posts on Twitter, etc., as Needed

   Assisting the Executive Director and/or Administrative Director, as Needed

   Research re. Funding, Grants, Marketing, Partnerships, Program Development, as Needed

   Related Tasks, as Needed

Program Assistant Internship Position Required Traits:

  Valid drivers license, good driving record, & access to a reliable vehicle REQUIRED

  Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint REQUIRED

  Excellent business writing and speaking skills/ professional demeanor REQUIRED

  Internet research and navigating, including familiarity with social media REQUIRED

  Familiarity with arts education, programming, preferably in urban school settings

  Familiarity with non-profit programming, including services for at-risk populations

  MUST be physically able to perform the tasks involved:

  this internship requires you to have the ability to stand for extended periods, to sit for extended periods, to climb stairs,  and to move and lift packages up to 40 pounds

Program Assistant Internship Position - Ideal Traits:

  Ideally, candidates are a grad student pursuing degree in Art Ed, Studio Arts, or Art History.

  Ideally, candidates have minimum of a Bachelors in Art Ed, Studio Art, or Art History.

  Ideally, candidates have a wide range of experience with a diverse collection of art medium, and a first-hand experience with a variety of art making processes

Organizational Prowess: You know how and when to tackle different steps in every project. You come prepared with the information, tools, attire, and attitude.
