The School Year
Hands On Workshop (HOW) continues at Columbia Heights Education Campus. We had an even larger group for SY2017, with students ranging from 6th-8th grade for our teen HOW program. We also expanded our DCPS partnership to teach HOW at Takoma Education Campus. At Takoma we started a 4th graders class. It is amazing watching their development blossom from one project to the next, and they love to sew. Their confidence is growing and they’re coming up with great ideas on their own. They are also collaborating among themselves and take the initiative to clean up the tables and supplies. From Sy2016 to SY2017, HOW grew 400% in student numbers.
