Zenith Community Arts Foundation (ZCAF)
Using Art & Creative Partnerships to Benefit Community

Founded in 2000 by Margery E. Goldberg as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the Zenith Community Arts Foundation (ZCAF) is dedicated to fostering alliances between artists, businesses, non-profits and government organizations, using the transformative power of art to benefit community.  Among our most successful programs are:

The Freedom Place Collection of 56 privately held works by preeminent African American artists Romare Bearden, Benny Andrews, Alma Thomas, Robert Freeman and Richard Yarde was an immediate success when it was unveiled by ZCAF at Zenith Gallery, Washington, DC, in fall 2007. Since then, the collection has been shown at Meridian House International and Congressional Bank in Washington DC, the University of New England in Camden, Maine and at Monroe Community College's Mercer Gallery in Rochester, New York.       view video      see collection

Food Glorious Food – This annual collaboration with artists, restaurants, chefs, caterers, business sponsors and volunteers has raised more than $100,000 for the Capital Area Food bank in just four years.  Launched in 2005, the mix of food, art and charity generates income through (1) a month-long art exhibit of food in all its fabulous forms; (2) production of a calendar featuring a piece of art from the show for each month, a recipe from a top chef and a sponsor banner to pay for the calendar; (3) a fundraising event and silent auction; and (4) the sale of giclče prints from the calendar.  One hundred percent of proceeds from the event and calendar sales, and a percentage of sales from original art and giclčes, benefit the food bank.

eARThly.concerns – A platform for ZCAF’s environmental initiatives, eARThly.concerns launched a limited-edition portfolio What Remains: The American Landscape in 2008 to benefit the environment through the sale of giclče prints of renowned realist painter Bradley Stevens’ majestic landscapes.  ZCAF’s first beneficiary and partner is the Trust for Public Land (TPL) and other non-profit environmental groups will be added as the program expands.
